Lane & Firearm Rental
Whether you want to improve your aim or you are looking for a fun interactive sport for your office group or social circle, we have the top facilities you need at Hot Brass Firearm and Bow Range. Shooting practice, alone or with friends, is one of the most important things you can do to learn and practice gun safety.
You will love our 90-foot firearm lanes, which offer greater range and safety than the typical 50-75 foot lanes you would find at the majority of indoor facilities. If you want to give target shooting a try, you can rent your equipment at Hot Brass.
If you want to hone your archery skills instead, bring in your bow and arrows, and use one of our designated archery lanes.
Lane Rentals: The Basics
We are open to the public. No membership is required to come in and use the range, although members do enjoy specific discounts and privileges. If you have not yet become a member, bring along your firearms permit.
Lane rental is $26.95 for one person and $15 additional if you will be sharing with a friend. On your first visit, we require you to pass a standard safety test.
If you do not possess a Massachusetts firearms license or a license from an acceptable neighboring state, you can arrange a private LIVE FIRE instructional range session with a certified gun instructor at Hot Brass.
Schedule a private LIVE FIRE instructional range session with one of our instructors and any .22 caliber firearm for only $85
($35 for each additional shooter, limit 2 shooters per instructor). A $25 non-refundable deposit is required.
**One (1) 50 round box of .22 LR is included. Additional $20.00 and cost of ammo for all other caliber shooting **
Bow lane rentals are $20 for 30 minutes. You can share the lane with a friend for an additional $10.
Gun Rentals and Ammunition
Gun rentals in general are $10, except for specialty firearms. Rentals are not only for those who do not own their own guns but also for participants who want to try out some different models. When you rent a firearm, you must purchase your ammunition from us.
When planning your trip to the range, keep in mind that:
To rent/shoot high or low-capacity firearms and long guns or high or low-capacity handguns, you must be 21 years of age or older and hold a Class A LTC license.
To rent/shoot low capacity firearms and long guns, you must be 18 years of age or older and have an FID card.
If you are under age 18, you must share a lane with a participant who is over 21 years of age and has a firearms permit.
You can bring your own factory-packaged ammunition if you are using your own firearms, but we do not allow reloaded ammo, steel jacket or steel core bullets.
We reserve the right to inspect your ammunition.
Hot Brass Firearm and Bow Range reserves the right to refuse service to anyone on our premises.
Safety First
Please follow these safety essentials when you are using Hot Brass shooting lanes:
If in doubt, ask a Hot Brass Firearm and Bow Range employee.
Follow the Range Safety Officer's (RSO) instructions.
Use eye and ear protection every time you are at the range.
Do not cross the safety line unless you get the OK from the RSO.
If you are not currently shooting, stand at least one or two yards behind the shooter.
Treat your firearm as if it were loaded at all times.
Never point the gun at something or somebody you don't intend to shoot.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are about to shoot.
Know your target and what is behind the target.
If you are pregnant, your baby's hearing is vulnerable to damage at a shooting range.
Range Tips, Etiquette and What to Expect
If you are new to Hot Brass and shooting ranges in general, you should know what to expect when you visit our indoor range. One factor you may not take fully into account is the noise. Make sure that all people in your group, whether or not they expect to participate, bring along adequate ear and eye protection.
If you have your own firearms, make sure they are unloaded and packed in a carrying case when you come into our facility. Keep them cased until you are at your lane and ready to start your session.
Our staff will brief you on our rules and best practices before you begin your session. These STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP) must be followed at all times.
Before entering the actual range area, put on your ear and eye protection. Expect the sound of gunfire to be somewhat amplified due to the nature of an indoor facility.
Your lane will be equipped with an automated target retrieval system, so you need not enter the lane itself.
If you need to step back from your lane, do not carry your gun with you, even if it is unloaded.
Always aim directly at the target. Shooting across lanes is dangerous to others, and shooting upward or downward can damage the facility's flooring or ceiling. You can be liable for the damages.
Stand up against the counter when shooting. Taking a few steps back and then shooting puts you behind other patrons, placing them at risk.
Be considerate of those using your lane next by retrieving your target and either taking it with you or disposing of it.
Keep your firearm on the shooting counter whenever you are not using it, loading or unloading.
Keep your finger off the trigger unless you intend to shoot.
